9 out of 10 mothers experience problems returning to work after maternity leave and a prolonged absence from work can reduce engagement,  motivation and workplace wellbeing by as much as 20% when people return. Maternity coaching helps both individuals and organisations manage  the transition smoothly. Maternity coaching, and help with planning, ensures women make the right return to work plans and decisions to suit their  individual circumstances and feel supported by their organisation.


Supporting mothers through maternity leave is only half of the picture, if they return to a working environment that doesn't support them to achieve their potential. Line Manager training can support Line Managers to create an inclusive environment where all parents can thrive, to feel confident supporting parents to and from parental leave, and help them reboot their career after their return

My three-staged approach supports mothers before, during and after maternity leave

It helps mothers prepare for and understand the transition they have been through in becoming a mother and their new identity. It enables them to visualise their future self and goals for their career, before helping them plan the return to work that's right for them. Finally, it helps them plan and re-establish their career plan on their return to work.

Line Manager Support

At The Maternity Coach we also offer support for the Line Managers of mothers-to-be/parents to be or mothers/fathers on maternity leave. The goal of the support is to help Line Managers create an environment where parents feel supported and can thrive at work. It provides space for Line Managers to reflect on how they can support their reports during this time,  covers how Line Managers can influence their team and company culture by leading with a positive attitude towards parents and what they bring back to your organisation, it also outlines the key things to ask and do to ensure that parents feel supported at each stage of their transition to parental leave. There are three types of support:
